Brookhouse farm was certainly there before 1795 as the old barns along Whiteley Lane are shown on the plan from that year. I have maps when more buildings were added. Like most old buildings they have been added to from time to time. I think I would tell the insurers 18th-Century with later additions and alterations. Quite a lot of history to the farm and the area generally which I am happy to share if you are interested once you are in.
Hi there I am just in the process of buying Brookhouse Farm and in an attempt to find the date of construction, (insurance companies keep asking me!) I came across your recent research. It all looks like an interesting corner of Sheffield history. Did you find anything which might indicate when the barn was constructed? Many thanks Helen Goldsmith
